Winter Without Heaters

I personally don't like electrical heating. Why?
Apart from racking up an enormous electricity bill (which is way out of budget), it makes the room kinda dry and uncomfortable.
With that said, I'd rather skint on the bills and load up the boat =)

Investing in good sleeping gear is essential for the cheapskate hiding underneath the rock ;)
I wear a -10'c sleeping bag, 2 quilts, 1 blanket, 1 hoodie + jacket, and a beanie to bed.
My sleep set-up/ aka SLEEPUP!

Warm and toasty, save those electricity bills to pay for food =D

Caribee Jumbo Snow Drift -10'c Sleeping bag. Got it for $47 delivered from Scoopon, regular price is about $79 - 89 ?

  • 200gsm Techloft Extreme Fill (Two Layers)
  • -10 degree Celsius Rating
  • 240cm x 90cm Dimensions
  • Draw cord hood, draft collar and draft tube to help reduce heat loss.
  • Velcro tab to help secure the main zipper (left side)
  • Overlapping zippers (enable open/closing from inside)
  • Bottom tabs (x2) to enable securing bag to mattress

The bag sack build quality is a little flimsy though, making the job of putting it back fairly frustrating.

Its fairly big, makes a comfy fit for long legged people ;)

I'd reckon 0' - -5'c would be the max comfort zone.
Has yet to reach -10'c here haha

Out of the bag!

Doesn't exactly fit in the bed frame. Now you know my pain...

Looks pretty cool inside haha. Very soft and comfy.

Duck down is nicer tho, but the price is bleeearrggh...

Same as the picture below. Just taken with flash.

Velcro tab that assists in holding the zipper in place.

The overly complicated zipper (for me).
Overlaying zippers enable the bag to be opened from both insides and outside.

It can be opened up fully to become a quilt, if sleeping in a bag isn't your thing.
(Can't understand if you bought a sleeping bag to not sleep inside hahah)

The drawcords (there is another one on the other side), inside enable you (me in this case), to tighten the hood/ bag, to lessen heat loss.

These tabs enable the bag to be attached to an external mattress (no experience in that)!

Erratic Behaviour is the master of living cheap!
