A Call From Me;

Grandpa said to me,

Walk the world like it's yours.
You've earned it.
Go on.

Grandma told me not to listen to the old coot.
She said; it's not yours, until you've earned it.
Till then, the world lays in safe hands.
Waiting for you to grow up.

* * *
Today, I recieved a call.
A man with a hoarse voice spoke in a sullen tone.
He said; Son, it is time, you've earned it.
With that, he hung up; leaving me alone with the dial tone.

* * *
Everyone tells me I've earned the right to something, but what have I really earned?

Miles Away

When the noise fades away,
The leaves shed to the ground.
The stillness in the air,
A breath taints its perfection.

Streaks of red, green, and the occasional yellow;
It peppers the streetscape like Christmas morning.
A faint hum coming from the ground;
Vibrations from the same street miles away.

Hold me, help me me down.
Gag me, force me to submit into this gown.
Beat me, go ahead and knock me down.
Fear me, for I can never drown.

Trapeze

The lonely artist lays with his feet hanging over the edge.
Arms outstretched, eyes projecting towards the higher skies.
He scans the clouds in search of nominal patterns,
Inspiration.

Abby is a single mother.
Struggling to balance her adolescent years, and to raise an innocent life.
She is lost, yet found.
Dedication.

In the wartorn state of Kabul,A paraplegic fumbles at his shoes.
Not with his hands, but with those stumps at the ends of his arms.
Everyday he does the same routine, struggling to put shoes onto the feet that he no longer owns; to protect his family and country.
Motivation.

The trapeze swings freely in the breeze,
As he stares at the passer-bys.
They seem happy and well fed,
Whilst he sits in his cage.
Separation.

A Seat

"Please wait. The doctor will be with you shortly."

* * *
The body I currently reside in,
It is superficial.
It is not me,
But a mocking representation of me.

I am destined for greatness this mere shell cannot withstand.
The energy I emit burns and scorches this very flesh.
Burning it inside out.
A microwave.

* * *

"Sir? Sir! Somebody call for help!
Sir! Can you hear me?"

* * *

Lost in thought,
Detached from the physical anchor.
The ship sets sail,
Into the netherworld.

P.E.A - P is for Print

Here's the first installment in my P.E.A (Print. Enchant. Animate) Trilogy.

The P.E.A digs into the mysteries that revolve around the element of design, it's process, and its outcomes.

P is for Print reaches out to the design phase of manufacturing, transforming inspirational ideas onto paper; into something real.

Brain Splatter

The brain is asleep,
Yet the body stays awake.
Lacking of computational skills,
But retaining the basic cognitive abilities and needs.

I can walk,
But I cannot run.
I need to feed,
For sustenance.

Does that make me a zombie?
What if zombies were just people with their brains asleep?
During an apocalyptic world,
Zombies aren't the threat.

They cannot think,
They cannot fight.
They are vegetative,
Who also happens to be hungry.

Who isn't?

Sending spikes of chills down my neck,
The blood coursing through your veins;
It's now mine.

Foghorn

A foghorn sounds in the distant lands,

Travelling by wind,
Over decades of snow and fire,
To the modern man.

There's the feeling of apprehension in every step.
Knowing you're blinded,
But you have to keep moving.
Keep breathing in the pressing moisture.
To avoid being consumed by the fog.

Balding

Today, the last leaf makes its stand.
It gives it's speech,
Mutters it's goodbyes;
Off and away it goes.

Like the final few strands of hair,
A remainder of the good years,
Brushed and groomed with loving care;
Resides and shall now be put to eternal rest.

PSI

Have you ever thought about why a square is made up of 4 lines perpendicular to one another?

Not 3 lines, 10 lines or 7. Four.

Why?

* * *

In every seemingly random and unique occasion, there is always a strand of uniformity behind it.

The present determines the future, but the approximate present does not determine the future.

Yes and no.
The present is not approximate; but instead, it is definite. Everything we do is definite. It has a value and is set in the past.

The only approximate factor of the present is the actions we may take on at a later date;
Hence, the future.

* * *

Time itself does not change. Instead, it is He who relies upon time for change; that changes.

Crazy Horse

O' mighty horse,
I bow before you.
Your mane fluttering in the starlight,
While mere mortals like myself watch in awe.

Our great leader,
We will follow you to the death.
Nothing is more than our love for you,
You have always been the only one.

Eye-Stab

Melon spoon in hand,
Tin plate left on my lap.
Straddling me unclothed,
There she was.

She proceeds to strap my head down.
Chaining my arms to the bedposts.
I am spread eagled.
A crude mimicry of Jesus Christ.

A guarded left eye speculum is applied onto me.
A black patch is placed over my other eye.
Seeing through my lazy eye.
She was beautiful.

* * *

I watched her for as long as I could.
I did not scream, nor did I squirm.
I admired her precision with the crudely fashioned tools.
She is so beautiful.

I no longer look at other women,
Not because I value my remaining eye;
But because she is the only one.
The one that exists for me.

Disparity

Pressure mounts as it bubbles,
Simmering to a maximum point.
Light fixtures begin to wobble,
The oncoming rumble increasingly thunders on.

The colourful flag of the world.
Diversity in droves,
Black, White, Yellow;
They all bleed red.

The Black Apes from the African plains,
Aggressive and dominating.
Taking the throne for its own,
Born into enslavement before the day is gone.

The tanned Argali are cautious and nimble footed.
Mindful of the barren Gobi whilst on constant alert for predators.
Food is scarce, yet populations seemingly endless.
Counter-measures in place; life always finds a way.

The Great White shark; roaming bodies of coastal temperate waters,
Hierarchial dominance at the top of the food chain.
Spreads itself across the channels and links between continents,
A muted attempt in global takeover.

Summits come and go,
Planting seeds of one-a-many's labour.
When its time to return,
The aforementioned forgotten.

We all bleed red. Unless if you bleed something else, we're no different.

Apple and PC,
Android and iOS,
Crackers, Chinks, and Coons.
Noodles, casseroles, and Cornbread.

The stereotypes are a skin. A barrier set up to distance over another offer petty and minute differences.

Are we really that different?

Not that big of a rack.
A little flat out back,
But she's the one;
The one I've been waiting for.
