Book

Sifting through the piles,
Wandering aimlessly amongst the aisles,
Searching for a sign,
A face of familiarity.

Pallid faces with monochrome edges peer at me,
Seductively alluring my approach.
Taunting my advances,
Mocking my shameless retreats.

A scent wafts through the humid air,
Silky white leaves,
Illustrious browned pages,
A decadence.

Excerpts and randomly selected pages,
Sparkly covers and dull monochrome spines.
Something by someone,
Something for everyone.

GreenThorn Shirogorov Hati Clone

Comes in a simple black box without logo. Free lanyard!
    Molded foam inside the case

Impressed with the detail in the flipper tab. Nice and rounded edges.

    Nice jimping for extra grip

Really surprised by the skeletonised handle. Usually only available on higher end knives (clone or not)

Side-by-side comparison with the Kershaw Entropy

    - D2 Blade (Stonewash)
      - G10 and Milled Steel Handle
        - Double row ball bearings
          - Flipper + Framelock
            - Blade length: 3.74inch (95mm)
              - Total length: 8.77 inch (223mm)
                - Closed Length: 4.9 inch (125mm)

                • Impressive fit and finish.
                • Comes in a black box with magnetic lid and no logo. (Mine had a free lanyard too!)
                • Pivot is a little tight out of the box, but can be adjusted.
                • Pocket clip is too tight but after adjustment, it works fine.
                • Nice textured G10 and jimping.
                • The stonewash is nice and even on both the blade and the steel handle.
                • Skeletonised steel handle to reduce weight. Well balanced.
                • Seems to be D2 blade steel, only time will tell.
                • Feels great in the hand, no hotspots. Its a fairly big knife too!
                • Excellent detent, just right.
                • Good blade centering and decent edge.
                • Affordable, great quality.

This blade is 4% of the price of and Original Shirogorov Hati ($1000+)
Ethical opinions aside, this knife (the clone) is really good value if you are going to use it (instead of collect it in a glass boxas you should with all knives...

A Day In Life - Day Two

                When the Saints,
                Go marching on...

1st November of every year is All Saints Day.

Here is an insight to the All Saints Day in Krakow, Poland.
Shots were taken handheld at Salwator Cemetery and at Krakus Mound.

A Day in Life - Day One

A Day in Life is a new series I've been toying with for awhile now.

Documenting the daily life of a person.
Common rituals of the day, unusual events out of the ordinary.

A man, or perhaps a boy.
A woman, or even a girl.
                An adult, maybe a child.
All with two limbs, two arms,
                And one head.

Day One is... the first day of this series.
I have yet to decide how many "days" to end it.

                Limoncello

                Rainbows without a tone,
                Lemons on a roll.
                Biscuits crumbing,
                Apples tarting.

                A sizzle without a sound.
                A cracker without his hound.
                A tyrant without his crown,
                A wife without a frown.

                Χάος

                Time stops,
                A needle drops.
                The last breath,
                Lingering in the air.

                Chaos around,
                Chaos surrounds.
                Chaos within,
                Inside me.

                Cries of man,
                Screaming horses,
                Clanking metal,
                A grinding halt.

                Fire in the sky,
                Black rain.
                Waiting to die,
                It's time again.

                Battles rage,
                Warring wars.
                Armies take,
                Humanity falls.

And in this moment of darkness, his eyelids flutter. Like a moth drawn to a candlelight, he scans the battlefield.

A moment in time before death, he sees the truth of the light. Pure and unfiltered.
It seeps through the mound of bodies above him, penetrating every crevice.
Finally washing a small patch of his face in light.

                Ah light.
The cliché of light in the darkness.

                Peace within.

                Cashew King

                The shy goods are awakening.
                Raising their cloudy hackles,
                Growling and sneering,
                It's about to get ugly.

                Tickle tickle,
                Catch my fancy.
                Flushed red like peonies,
                Drooping like grannie's...
